VICKY FAREWELL - “SUNBURN” - MAC’S RECORD LABEL

Los Angeles-based indie pop artist Vicky Farewell returns with the new single, "Sunburn," out via Mac’s Record Label. The first taste of music from Vicky Farewell since 2024’s Give a Damn, “Sunburn” is a dreamy bedroom pop track. The song is a summertime blues song, which Farewell says “is the only way any Californian experiences the blues.”

She elaborates, “I wrote ‘Sunburn’ in the summer of last year (2025), and what followed was a months-long bout of writer's block. I think at the time, I had so much I wanted to say, so I just unloaded everything I was feeling at that moment. Just like my other singles, this one took one day to finish writing. Some sadness, growth, and fragility all happening in the middle of summer. I always wanted to play with the duality of pain and pleasure, and I think a sunburn is the perfect metaphor for that.”

Farewell, a California-native, has been recording and releasing music under Mac’s Record Label since 2021. Based in Los Angeles, she has worked and toured with notable artists throughout her career as a keyboardist and songwriter spanning across multiple genres. As a music artist, Farewell has toured worldwide as support for Mac DeMarco, Ginger Root, Mocky, and Pearl and the Oysters. She is currently finishing up her third record and is set to tour again, opening for DeMarco in the UK and Europe next month.
