ultra lights - pleasure’s all yours - chunklet
AT RADIO NOW
Atlanta rockers Ultra Lights recently announced their debut LP, Pleasure's All Yours, out July 10th via Chunklet. The album’s lead singles “Bad Feeling” followed by "Good Enough," are two earworm-worthy tracks that have received high praise from the likes of Stereogum, Post-Trash, Earmilk, and The Big Takeover. You can stream the record on Bandcamp & Spotify.
A follow-up to last year's self-titled EP, Pleasure's All Yours is a collection of punchy rock anthems that feature endearingly honest and nihilistic sentiments wrapped up in singalong melodies and gritty garage rock riffs. Drawing influence from acts like The Strokes, Pavement, Archers of Loaf, and Wipers — topped off with the swaggering lean of some of Australia's best trash rock bands — the album is a nod to the working artist and the relentlessness of finding meaning in a world that keeps telling us to look the other way.
Led by seasoned singer-songwriter John Robinson (previously of Illegal Drugs and Turf War), Ultra Lights began with early demos recorded during 2020's pandemic lockdown and fully came together in 2023, with the addition of guitarist and backup vocalist Leela Hoehn, bassist Alex Wharton, and drummer Gus Fernandez. Over the past couple of years, they've racked up praise for their carefully honed sound and have opened for bands like The Hold Steady, Les Savy Fav, and Sparta.
Pleasure's All Yours was recorded, mixed, and co-produced by Kris Sampson (Omni, Balkans) and mastered by Mikey Young (Royal Headache, Kelley Stoltz.) It's currently available for pre-order on Bandcamp.
