SUPER PLAGE - MINI CLUB - LISBON LUX

A Rimouski native who has called Montreal home for the past decade, Jules Henry—aka Super Plage—is back with his fifth original album, MINI CLUB. After headlining Osheaga this summer, earning an ADISQ nomination for Electronic Album of the Year for GROSSE MAISON, and making a memorable appearance at Printemps de Bourges in 2026, Super Plage has cemented his place in Quebec’s electronic music scene. With this fifth LP, the producer and DJ refines a signature sound that falls somewhere between the luminous electro-pop of Lewis OfMan, the groovy, rap-infused house of Channel Tres, and the offbeat coolness of YAEJI. Lyrically, he draws as much from the edgy universe of Jean Leloup as from the sharp writing of Lydia Képinski.

MINI CLUB bridges Super Plage’s multiple sonic identities: the early electro-pop heard on “PARIS”, the house music that gradually established itself as the main creative focus on the previous album GROSSE MAISON, and a more assertive shift toward tech-house on tracks like “SÉOUL” (feat. Zéa Calla). Somewhere between spoken word and singing, Super Plage delivers lyrics rooted in everyday life over instrumentals suited for both the club and a summer chilling day in the park: he addresses the closure of concert venues on “LATULIPE”, relationships on “BOOBOO” (feat. Hawa B), and his dog on “PAUL VS LE MONDE.”

When it comes to instruments, digital synthesizers reign supreme, but this new album leaves more room for organic textures: bass guitar on “KAUAI CORE” (feat. SUUNCAAT), saxophone creating a jazz-house vibe on “SEXY & FATIGUÉE” (feat. Laurence Camille), and everyday sounds recorded in the studio and on the streets of Montreal. MINI CLUB is, above all, an album of collaborations: Virginie B. (who previously appeared on GROSSE MAISON), Zéa Calla – a childhood friend he reconnected with – and Hawa B, all contributed to the songwriting. Short, dense, danceable, and exciting: MINI CLUB never lets you predict what’s coming from one song to the next.
