Replaced By Robots® are making music for the strange space between nostalgia and the future. Featuring Goolkasian (The Elevator Drops), Heather Joy Morgan, and Adam Wade (Funeral Party), the band blends psychedelic and alternative rock with new wave, post-punk, electronic textures, and a distinctly cinematic sense of atmosphere.

Their songs can move from melodic, organic guitar-driven rock to synth-heavy, darker territory, often with a strange sense of humor underneath. Always somehow delivered with emotion and soul. Influences range from Bowie, Bob Dylan, The Flaming Lips, and Wilco to New Wave heroes like the B-52s, Devo, The Cure, and Gary Numan, with even a little Sex Pistols thrown into the mix.

The band’s name says a lot about the project: Replaced By Robots are obsolete bohemians watching the future arrive—and trying to score it in real time.

Their latest single, “Whiskey, Bourbon, Gin or Rye…It’s Alright to Cry,” is one of their most organic songs yet, combining warm guitars, psychedelic touches, and a bittersweet melodic feel with the band’s darker technological edge.

The accompanying video pushes that idea further, using deliberately fractured and unstable imagery to explore a world where technology, nostalgia, and human creativity begin to break down.
