Mad Bad World is the brainchild of songwriter and multi-instrumentalist, Matt Battle. After cutting his teeth as a producer and drummer in the Los Angeles and New York music scenes, the Rochester, NY native re-emerged with a new moniker and sound. Battle previously garnered attention for his drumming with the psychedelic-soul band Chicano Batman, while quietly crafting an eclectic collection of songs synthesizing his love for psychedelic, lo-fi, and electronic music with his early influences of punk, indie, and alternative rock. 

The first MBW single “Weirdo,” is an explosive, indie-psych pop anthem layered with ethereal synths, modulated guitars and a thunderous back beat. The second single “Mirror Mime” — a cinematic indie punk-pop bop full of twists and turns propelled forward by an unrelenting off-kilter drum beat.
