contry risque - as the crow flies
AT RADIO NOW
Since making their live debut in 2022, Country Risqué has become something of a San Francisco queer country institution. Singer-songwriters Miles Gordon and Daniel Bromfield first met in Eugene, Oregon nearly a decade before forming the band, and after passing around songwriting ideas during the pandemic, they reconvened in San Francisco and formed a honky-tonk band centered around the coffee-and-chocolate contrast of Gordon’s rich, formally trained vocals and Bromfield’s languid deadpan. As the band has developed, its sound has progressed from a classic ‘50s-influenced country style to a rougher and more electrified sound inspired by alt-country, heartland rock and the rugged landscapes of the Pacific Northwest.
Country Risqué released their debut album Doe-Eyed Loverboys and Saints in 2024 (produced by the legendary Sonny Smith) through Rocks in Your Head Records before signing with Nudie Records for As the Crow Flies, out in October 2026. In addition to Gordon on vocals and rhythm guitar and Bromfield on vocals and keyboards, the band currently features Richard Moog on lead guitar, Sarah Parker on bass and Chris Kenyon on drums.
