CLOVER STIEVE - BORN TO LIVE

Clover Stieve’s highly anticipated debut album, Born to Live, is out. The LP blends confessional singer-songwriter writing with indie pop, folk, rock, and touches of R&B. Stieve’s intimate, soulful vocals glide over stripped-back arrangements, weave through richly layered production, and surge to the forefront in moments of emotional release, creating a dynamic, all-consuming listening experience. The album was recorded and produced independently in their home studio by Stieve and her husband Dani Sundream. It was mastered and mentored by Andrew Maury (Madi Diaz, Shawn Mendes, Victoria Canal).

At 26, Stieve lost both of her parents within two months. In the years that followed, songwriting became a way to navigate a grief that felt impossible to escape. Then her therapist asked her a deceptively simple question: Could she try writing from a place of joy instead of despair? The question led to “How Big Can I Dream,” a song that changed the trajectory of the album. What began as an experiment in writing about joy became the emotional center of a record about grief, love, heartbreak, anger, hope, and the radical act of choosing to be fully alive.

“Something shifted,” Stieve says. “I realized that making space for joy didn't diminish my grief or mean I was leaving my parents behind. It gave me permission to experience something beyond the pain.”

Rather than treating grief as something to overcome, Born to Live asks what it might look like to carry grief alongside joy - to let loss sharpen an appreciation for beauty, love, connection, and the gift of being here at all.

Clover Stieve (pronounced "Stee-vee") is a singer-songwriter with roots in Frenchtown, NJ and Brooklyn, NY . With a soulful voice that hits deep within the heart, and songs that flow from enchanting grooves to captivating tear jerkers, she has a timeless sound that weaves folk, indie rock, and pop. Drawing from the emotional poignancy and deft songwriting of artists like Sara Bareilles, Maggie Rogers, and Carole King, her music is at once trailblazing and reminiscent of pioneering female songwriters from the 60s and 70s. Over the past few years she has played beloved venues like SteelStacks, Ardmore Music Hall, Sellersville Theater, The Colony Woodstock, Bearsville Theater, and City Winery. Stieve released her debut EP, Atlas, in 2025, which was recorded at Electric Lady Studios with producer John Rooney (Yebba, Clairo, Kacey Musgraves).
