A captivating hybrid of 80's electronica and aggressive guitars fused with a cinematic quality of melodic progressions, The Birthday Massacre's soundscapes have encapsulated a diverse and devout fan base. Formed in 2000 under the name Imagica,In 2001, the band relocated from London to Toronto, Ontario and changed their name to The Birthday Massacre.

Driven by band's signature, unique blend of spiraling synth melodies, walls of guitar, and evocative vocals, Under Your Spell hits all the bases that audiences have come to reliably expect from the band - songs that range from dark, aggressive anthems to danceable, pretty pop - and every shade in between.

There is a rawness to the emotion that is expressed through this album, an openness and vulnerability that perhaps feels new for the listener. It becomes clearer than ever through this release of the tight bond that exists between the band, and their willingness to explore heartbreak and loss together. With these songs, they have entered the darkness of the most fragile emotions, and come back with a cohesive and detailed portrait of music that captures both the anger and the hope that exist within a moment in time.

On June 9, 2017, Metropolis recording artists THE BIRTHDAY MASSACRE will release UNDER YOUR SPELL, their seventh release. These 11 songs reveal a side of the Canadian band that audiences may not have seen before.  Proving to be the band's most intimate and emotive record to date, Under Your Spell is a captivating hybrid of 80's, electronica, and aggressive guitars, fused with dark, cinematic melodic progressions, blending the expansive breadth of The Birthday Massacre's signature sound, creating a deeply personal, immersive collection of songs.

In addition, the band has announced a North American tour that kicks off onMay 18th at Toronto's The Opera House and circles the continent, hitting cities such as Chicago, San Francisco, Los Angeles, Dallas, Orlando, NYC and Boston.
