SAD NIGHT DYNAMITE - “SICK OF YOUR SOUND” - ELEKTRA

Genre-bending duo Sad Night Dynamite have debuted new single “Sick of Your Sound.” The explosive new track premiered today as BBC Radio 1’s Hottest Record and is available now via Elektra alongside a suitably-volatile official music video.

“Sick of Your Sound” is a disruptive and acerbic blast of agit-pop, taking elements of DNB, punk, ska, hip-hop and assimilating them into the Sad Night Dynamite universe. Beneath the band’s surreal storytelling - full of heroes, villains, and the existential terrors of being alive today - there is, as always, a more serious message: the band describe “Sick of Your Sound” as “a breath of fresh rotten air. We wrote it at a time when we were feeling completely bloated with pointless information, coming mainly from online. The world is a confusing place, and ‘Sick of Your Sound’ is ultimately a reaction to that.”

Sad Night Dynamite’s new single is accompanied by a darkly comic video which takes the charged, brother-like relationship between school-friends Archie Blagden and Josh Greacen to its ultimate, and perhaps inevitable, bloody conclusion.

The “Sick of Your Sound” artwork also features a bespoke piece from enigmatic and widely celebrated British artists The Connor Brothers, whose work is included in the V&A, The Penguin Collection and have previously collaborated with the likes of Banksy and in aid of French refugee camp The Jungle. The Connor Brothers comment, "From time to time we get the opportunity to work with young, hugely talented, artists, doing incredible things. Meeting Sad Night Dynamite we instantly knew they were all of those things. Their music and message resonates with us, and this track is particularly apt given the shit-show that is the current state of the world. We’re delighted to get a chance to play a small role in their exciting journey.”

Following their performance at Great Escape Festival and UK tour with easy life, Sad Night Dynamite have announced three surprise, intimate shows taking place at London’s George Tavern this week (May 16th, 17th, 19th) - ‘Sick of Your Sound System’ will witness the band up-close and personal after their last sold-out headline show at Brixton Electric. The duo have been hard at work on much more new music to follow this year, after winning an impassioned audience and widespread acclaim for their formative mixtapes (Volume I, Volume II) and taking their dynamic live show from a 22-date world tour to a homecoming show at Glastonbury Festival.

As they begin a new chapter, Sad Night Dynamite stand firmly as one of the UK’s more unusual, and most exciting, breakout bands. Exploring the space between dystopia and escapism, aggravated humor and biting social commentary, the band’s sound is impossible to pigeonhole but completely of the moment.

Things that Sad Night Dynamite are sick of right now include: “A Karen complaining in the supermarket. A group of people vaping. PDA. Anti-abortion protesters. A podcaster waffling. Eating food on public transport. Runners on Strava. Craft beer. People that are rude to waiters. Standing on the wrong side of the escalator. Talking loudly on the phone. Loud breathers…”. The list goes on, and the story of Sad Night Dynamite continues.
