ROREY was born in Manhattan and raised bicoastally between Los Angeles and New York City. She began playing guitar at six and composed her first song by ten. A self-taught pianist, ROREY possesses an intuitive grasp of melodic composition, which empowers her to write and co-produce every track she releases. Her innate understanding of sound, paired with her early affinity for prose and nascent lyricism, allows her music to live in the space between youthful rawness and reflective reverie.

In 2019, ROREY left The New School in NYC to pursue her dream of living off her art. She returned to Los Angeles and released her debut single, “Predictable,” in 2021. Since then, she has carved out a distinct lane with brutally honest lyrics, hypnotic hooks, and a signature emotional depth that makes listeners feel seen.

Now 26, ROREY is known for her genre-bending sound and introspective storytelling. “Each one of my songs has an element of introspection — I’m always asking myself a question,” she says. “My music is about relationships with ourselves and others. It’s about self-deviance, self-discovery, and being radically honest, even when it hurts.”

Diagnosed with bipolar disorder in 2021, ROREY turned to songwriting as her greatest confidant and catharsis. Her upcoming sophomore EP, Dysphoria (out August 15th), was written during a mixed manic episode at the age of 21, in the thick of the pandemic, as a way to make sense of the chaos in her mind. Co-produced by longtime friend and collaborator Scott Effman, the project explores her cognitive dissonance through haunting melodies, ethereal vocals, and swirls of hypnotic instrumentals.

ROREY draws inspiration from everything — even pulling lyrics from text conversations. Though the only musician in her family, she grew up surrounded by sound, thanks to her Father’s love for Santana, Pink Floyd, and Jethro Tull.

Her “easy vulnerability” has resonated globally. ROREY’s music has been spotlighted on Apple Music’s Zane Lowe Show and featured on coveted playlists like Fresh Finds, Fresh Finds Indie, New Music Daily, and New In Pop, as well as major editorial playlists across Japan. She’s been praised by publications such as OFFICE, LADYGUNN, and NOTION, and more for her fearless lyricism and sonic spellwork.

ROREY is here to unnerve you and push you to confront the depths of your psyche. “I think I say out loud what some people are afraid to say. It keeps me going to know my songs help people get in touch with their emotions,” she shares. Whether you want to cry in your bed or dance alone in your room — ROREY has a song for you.
