keyland - stand up to you

Keyland is a band from Tulsa, OK, the brainchild of Kyle Ross. Rooted in blue-collar values and small-town spirit, Ross describes his music as “American Music” or “wild and mild,” capturing, in equal parts, a rowdy and reflective essence. Featuring elements of rock n’ roll, americana, and country, Ross defies the idea of needing to sit in one genre. Keyland released an EP called Too Tuff in spring of 2025, an exciting milestone for Ross that follows his last two full-length records. His previous studio albums were recorded with musicians from Tulsa, and both were released in 2023: Growin’ Pains and Sundress & Shade Trees. He’s currently rolling out a second EP for 2025.

Ross’s journey as a songwriter began in college, where he penned his first songs. The songwriting process took time to develop and is something he embraces wholeheartedly. His music tells stories of love, resilience, and wholesomeness — songs like “I’ll Be Right Here” and “Been A Fool” capture moments of personal struggle, unrequited love, and hope. His live shows are an essential part of his artistry, allowing him to connect with audiences in a genuine and unfiltered way. Keyland’s latest EP was recorded with Sam Westhoff, Hugh Westoff, Ramsey Thornton, Cash Jackson, and Sam Bowling at the renowned Sonic Ranch.

Released through One Riot, the EP captures Ross’s best work to date, a reflection of his growth and a testament to his unique musical identity. Ross remarks, ”The entire Keyland project has been very personal to me and also incredibly communal at the same time. I’m so happy to be making music with and for the people I love, and I’m stoked to see how we can continue to build this thing.” With this project, Ross continues to build on a vision that is both personal and communal, creating “American Music” that feels like home, no matter where he goes.
