GRAND PUBLIC - IDÉAL TEMPO [EP] - LISBON LUX
”Ideal tempo" is the first EP of Montreal's Grand Public. An indie-rock opus with a Krautrock flavor telling the uncertain labyrinths of a modern world that is tilting towards the fleeting, the immediate retribution and the purely frivolous. Frenetic rhythmic, vaporous vocal melodies, Grand Public should be quickly noticed by its subtle and catchy writing.
New 4-piece band Grand Public relased their first EP “Idéal tempo”. Krautrock Jangle pop montreal band propose 4 catchy tracks record by renown producer Dominic Vanchesteing (Bernardino Femminielli, Marie Davidson) and mix by Alex Crow (Melissa Auf der Maur, Diane Dufresne). Grand Public has start with a great support from Editorial Playlists (Nouveauté de la semaine Canada, ALT_QC, Nouveau Franco) and Montreal local scene (Taverne tour, Le Canal auditif, Dans ta face B).
Mixing hypnotic rhythms and explosive tension, Grand Public offers a music built of angular textures and aerial melodies. The guitars intermingle and respond to each other, while the bass and percussion insert themselves into the vocal tunes.
The band being made up of Gregory Paquet (The Stills, Molly Rankin of Alvvays, Peter Peter) and three childhood friends who have played together in several bands, including Reviews since 2017. Reviews having shared the stage with Corridor, Omni and several others, the members of Grand Public already have several years of experience.
Grand Public took advantage of the pandemic era to bring the project to a boil, refining their sound and writing several songs, four of them recently recorded with producer Dominic Vanchesteing (Bernardino Femminielli, Marie Davidson, Julia Daigle).
