glimmer - self destroyed

Formed in the spring of 2023, NY-based four-piece Glimmer pairs layers of fuzzed-out guitars with dreamy, swirling reverb for a sound that mixes elements of grunge, shoegaze, and '90s college rock. Made up of Jeff Moore (vocals / guitar), Jaye Moore (drums), Johnny Nicholls (guitar), and Kevin Dobbins (bass), the band has had a busy first few months, with no plans to slow down anytime soon.

Glimmer released their debut single "Self Destroyed" in June, introducing fans to their unique brand of grungy indie rock and earning them early support from outlets like BrooklynVegan and CREEM Magazine. Second single "Place in the Sun" shows off another dimension to their sound: it finds the band pairing the heavy guitars that propelled their first single with even catchier vocal melodies and an anthemic chorus.

Over the past few months, Glimmer has played to packed audiences across NYC, opened for Relapse Records band Cloakroom, and landed on a range of blogs and playlists. With nowhere to go but up, they plan to capitalize on their early momentum with live shows booked through the end of 2023, more studio time coming up, and plans to play SXSW and release a full-length in 2024.
