Glassio is an indie-pop outfit based in New York City, fronted by Sam R. - a Persian-Irish producer/songwriter that moved to the US in his teens to pursue music after falling in love with American artists on the radio in the Middle East. Originally a collaboration between himself and NYU Clive Davis classmate Charles Pinel, Glassio was formed in 2015 and debuted with the Poptimism EP in 2016, an endeavor that garnered praise from The Village Voice as "an encyclopedia of Pop" and other publications like The FADER and XLR8R. The lead single "Try Much Harder" climbed to #9 on the Spotify Viral charts that Spring. In 2017, the group released a string of singles that cumulated over 3 million plays on Spotify and Apple Music including “Morning House,” “Daydream,” and “Papaya” and performed what Ladygunn Magazine called a highlight show at SXSW in 2018. After a year of opening for acts like Valis Alps, Great Good Fine Ok, and Yelle, Sam R. focused on crafting the group's second EP, Age of Experience, and debuted 2018 with their springtime single “Back for More," featured on Alan Ball’s HBO show “Here and Now.”

On June 20, 2018, “New York, New York II,” the second single off their sophomore EP was released and featured on Spotify’s ‘New Music Friday.’ The upcoming EP Age of Experience, due to be released this fall, is “a testament to the ebb and flow of change that takes you by surprise in your mid-20s.” Sam R. explains.
