Church of Trees is a Canadian synth-pop/electro-rock band, whose debut release, Primitive Creatures (2017), charted in Japan, the UK, and across Canada. The band has released 6 subsequent albums that have spawned number 1 singles, such as World's a Bitch (ft the legendary Carole Pope [Rough Trade]), Like Gary Numan, Believe It Or Not, and Pet Sematary (Ramones cover).

Their music has been played on 4 continents and has landed on Top Ten charts on college and independent radio in Canada, the UK, and Europe, as well as on ‘Best Of’ album charts for the years 2017, 2018, 2020, 2021, 2022, 2023, and 2024. The 2024 album, Transience, was added to ‘Best Albums of 2024’ charts in both Canada and the UK.

Church of Trees’s latest album, Thief of Joy, was co-produced/mixed by former David Bowie producer/musical director Mark Plati (Bowie, The Cure, Lou Reed, Deee-Lite, etc.) and Jordon Zadorozny (Blinker the Star, Courtney Love, Lindsey Buckingham).

The band has worked/played with Carole Pope and Rough Trade, Rob Preuss of the Spoons/Honeymoon Suite, and played such iconic venues as the El Mocambo, Horseshoe Tavern, Bronson Centre, and more.

About the Band:

Church of Trees is a 4-member band that fuses technological elements of synthpop (synthesizers & electronics) with traditional elements of rock (guitar/bass/drums). Fronted by powerhouse vocalist, Stella Panacci and keyboardist/vocalist Bernard Frazer, the group is known for soaring and dynamic melodies and harmonies. They are rounded out by classically trained drum wizard, Gord McLaughlin, and superb progressive-rock guitarist, Nicholas Carriere.
