blue bendy - so medieval - the state51 conspiracy

Blue Bendy, the self-proclaimed 'third best guitar band in London', have released their highly anticipated debut album So Medieval, out now via The state51 Conspiracy. While the band may follow a familiar lineage of several contemporary London bands who formed in the late 2010s and were spawned from the scene around the Windmill in Brixton, Blue Bendy’s trajectory has been anything but routine. Instead, the band have struck a balance between being obviously skilled musicians, writing complex, layered, overlapping and ambitious compositions, while also utilising space, breadth, and restraint.

Having toured as main support for Squid and Cola as well as playing packed out tents at festivals like End Of The Road and Green Man, Blue Bendy’s resulting sound is rare for a new band: as experimental as it is confident and assured, as tender as it is visceral, as quiet as it is loud, as bloody as it is teary.
